The Zoo Trip
It was a bright sunny Wednesday morning. Our class was going on a zoo trip. We had earned this zoo trip because we were being good kids all year and got all the marbles in the jar.
Once we arrived, we split up into our groups. My group had five people in it, including me. My mum had transported us to the zoo and she was going to be the group leader. Once we entered, we saw quite a lot of people and a few other schools, as well. I looked down at the map and thought to myself where we could go first.
“Hmm,” I said, as I scanned the map from top to bottom. Finally, I came up with a small route we could take first. I showed Mum the route I had planned and told her I would add more on soon. We then headed in the direction of the Weka Walk.
Opening one door at a time, we entered the walkway. We walked along the path and
“There it is!” I said, as I pointed to the sign.
Once we got there, I saw a fuzzy red panda with a long tail and big brown eyes. It was sitting and eating in a little hut that was supported by a sturdy wooden pole.
“Its so cute!” We all said one by one.
It took a while for us to stop watching the red pandas but finally we decided to head back and look around for the other animals.
I looked at the map as we walked around, trying to find the last few animals we had to see.
“Ok, straight forward is the savannah. Keep going,” I said, as we walked down the hill.
We made it down and the first things we saw, were the tall spotty giraffes that practically towered over us. I looked around at the other animals in the enclosure, like zebras,
emus and cantaloupe. In the cage beside it, there were two types of animals - deer and a type of bison. Once we were finished looking at the animals, we headed back up to the cafe for lunch.

We arrived at the cafe with our bags. We found a spare table and sat down after our long walk and ate our lunch. Just as we finished our lunch, it was our turn to go into the Education Classroom. We met up with the rest of the groups and lined up outside the classroom.
Once we were alllowed to go in, a nice man, named Matt, came out to greet us. He led us in. He told us to sit on the mat and said that, after we had talked and asked our questions, we could have a good look around the classroom.
We saw lots of animals that used to be alive a long time ago. We saw turtle shells, some animal hide, a lot of reptiles like a live lizard and an Axolotl. I touched some animal skulls like a horse skull and a gorilla skull down to a fake human skull. After we had our look around, it was time to head back to school. We got into our travel groups and hopped into our cars. We drove all the way back to school. Luckily, it was the end of the day so we just had to put our booklets back on our desks. We waited a little while for the bell to ring so we could go home. Finally, when the bell, rang my mum and I headed home.
That was the best zoo trip I have ever been on. I hope we get to do it again sometime.

Miracle
Chapter One WHen It All Started
When Kelly was born she was really small, but thankfully from the help of the doctors she grew up perfectly fine. When she was old enough she got her own pony. They had many great times together.
Sadly, those times had to end.
Chapter Two The Earthquake
All the happy moments ended in The Earthquake.
All the horses neighed and kicked in the sables as the ground shock like crazy.
“Don’t worry Lemon! I'm coming!” Kelly said as she ran to the stable.
But Claire held her back.
“No Kelly. Its too late.” She said as she took her back to safety.
Days later people found a horse and her foal that survived the earthquake.
“Its a miracle! A mother and her foal survived!”
Chapter Three Moving Elsewhere.
Kelly had to move in with her uncle Herman after she lost her parents and her pony in The Earthquake. She hardly knew her uncle. Kelly was also a pretty popular rider and thats just what her uncle needed.
Chapter Four There Might Be Hope
A few months later Kelly had been training another horse named Rain. She was due to start a big race soon.
“Another race eh boy? Well lets get it over with then.”
3...2...1… GO!
The sound of the gun banged loud in the air. The horses all raced off at full speed. The sound of the hooves clopped against the yellow sand. Kelly and Rain were on a roll until suddenly Rain got his hoof stuck in a hole. They struggled to get out so Kelly had to stop the race. A vet came and drove them back to the stables.
“How bad is it?” Asked her uncle.
“Its not to bad but it will take a few months to heal.” Answered the vet.
“We don’t have the money to wait for it to heal. We will have to sell him to a farmer for LOTS of money.”
And with that both the vet and uncle Herman left the stable.
Chapter Five Saying Goodbye.
Kelly stood in front of rain not saying a word. Her two friends named Lisa and Lilly came up to her.
“Did you hear that?” Lilly asked.
“You can’t let him do this!” Exclaimed Lisa
“We have to stop him!” They both shouted.
“Kelly? Hello? Kelly?” Lilly said curiously.
“I don’t care as it doesn't trouble me.” Kelly said bluntly as she walked outside of the stall. Her friends looked at each other with worried faces.
Chapter Six The Newspaper.
Meanwhile Kelly stood in her room speechless holding a piece of newspaper in her hand.
The piece of paper had a picture of a brown horse with a white mane on it. The paper said.
“3 year old Arabian horse for sale!” Kelly stood there lost in her thoughts.
Chapter Seven Should I?
There Kelly was debating with herself whether or not she was going to buy the horse or not. She finally said.
“Why not just ask uncle Herman if I can? Can’t get a better offer right?”
She walked down the stairs and asked her uncle if she could get the horse as she held out the piece of newspaper in front of her.
“Hmm.” Answered her uncle…
Chapter Eight The Decision
The sound of a truck interrupted his thoughts.
“Oh! That must be the farmer coming to buy rain!”
Kelly sighed as she put the piece of paper away.
“I don’t know if that was a yes or a no but I have a feeling this isn't going to end well.” She said to herself.
Chapter Nine All Happy.
Kelly watched out the window as the farmer drove away with Rain.
Herman came back in with a smile on his face.
“Now that Rain is gone and we have A LOT of money we can buy that horse you wanted!”
Uncle Herman announced.
Kelly’s face lit up as she beamed with joy.
“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”
She shouted as she ran to get into her riding clothes.
Once she was finished they drove out with their trailer to pick up their new Arabian.
They soon arrived at the farm and instantly Kelly saw the farmer standing with the beautiful mare in front of them. They hopped out and Kelly ran to the horse.
“ Aren't you a beauty.” She said as she held her hand out to the horse.
“There's something very special about this horse.” Said the farmer. “She was the foal that survived The Earthquake."
He said proudly.
Herman smiled at him as Kelly led her new horse into the trailer.
"I think I'll name you Miracle." She beamed
They were finally ready to head home. They said goodbye to the farmer and drove back up to their house.
Kelly stayed quiet as she was thinking of the fun times she was going to have with Miracle just as she had with Lemon and Rain.
Once they arrived Kelly led Miracle into her new paddock. At the end of that day everyone was happy.
Kelly was happy with Miracle.
Herman was excited with his new horse Miracle.
Kelly's friends were proud of her because she was happy again.
The farmer was pleased with his new horse Rain.
Miracle was joyful with her new home.
The other farmer was delighted that someone brought his horse.
And of course Kelly's parents and Lemon were happy in heaven because they were proud of her and how she was getting on.The End

Horse Riding In Fiji
Last year My Dad My Mum and I were in Fiji.
It was the day finally. The day when I got to ride horses along the sandy beach with two friends I had made.
It was a bright sunny day. My Parents and My friends walked down to the beach with me. The palm trees blew slowly in the breeze as the sun blazed through the leafs and down on us.
When we got down to the beach there was three men waiting for us with three horse by their side. There was two brown horses and one white horse.
The other girls picked the brown horses so I picked the white horse. The three men also sat on the horses with us. The men hopped off every now and then to lead the horses at slow paces.
Once we started to ride our body's bounced up and down slightly. The men made the horses go faster into a gallop. The horses didn't run too fast just in case we fell off. But it was enough to keep us happy.
We galloped along the beach as the cool breeze flew in our faces.
We then started to slow down. The men hopped off the horses and began to lead them and turn them around so we could head back the other way.
When the men hopped back on the other horses trotted in front of us at different speeds. as they were in front of us my horse began to pick up the pace. We all began to gallop. I watched the sea splash against the shore feeling the wind blow my hair behind me.
We finished a few minutes later. My mum and dad had waited for me where we started. I hopped down off the horse and stroked its neck before I ran to my parents.
That was one of the best experiences of my life.

Fish N Chips For Dinner
I am getting really sick and tired of having home made meals for dinner every night so I think that we should have fish n chips once a week for a change.
My first reason is that the fish in fish n chips is healthy and delicious and the chips can be a little treat along the side. You can also choose to have some tomato sauce or any other sauce you like to have with your fish and chips.
My second reason is that it will stay warm for a while and when you are driving home from the takeaway shop it will keep your legs warm on the way back.
When you have finished eating you can use the leftover newspaper for special shared lunches or other things in the future. My last reason is that the leftovers can be a good for another dinner or lunch, you can heat up the leftover fish if it not raw. If your friends are over for dinner and you still have leftover fish from the fish n chips you had a few days ago you can just heat that up and have a little meal with it and a bit of extras.
And that is why I want to have fish n chips once a week. I hope you have agreed with me and my reasons. I know at least some people would have agreed with me.
