Holiday Rock Climbing

In the holidays my brother was looking after me for Monday and Tuesday. so we went out somewhere. He asked me where I wanted to go so I replied in my usual answer “I don’t know,” so he asked me if I wanted to go rock climbing in a place called Climbing Edge. I said, “Sure why not,” so we hopped into his car and drove all the way there.
When we got there I was excited and scared at the same time. We walked inside and the heat changed from a cold and windy breeze to a warm and cozy summer air.
A friendly lady was there to greet us at the front desk. We paid first and I wrote my name and age on a small clipboard. Then the lady put a tightly firmed harness around my waist. She told us the instructions on what to do when we want to clip onto the climbing walls and then she pointed to the kids rock climbing area to the left. I got so excited I could hardly wait!

We walked over to the colourfully themed rock climbing walls and saw a lot of joyful kids with their family and friends. I walked around looking for a spare and fairly easy wall.

I found one soon enough and my brother helped me with clipping on. When he was done I started climbing up. I was kind of scared and the rock climbing wall was slippery but I knew I would be safe.
When I reached the top I looked down at my brother and smiled. He smiled back at me and said, “Good on you,” as I swung down from the green and orange wall.
When I got down my brother said, “If you can get up to the top of two more, I will buy you some treats from the front desk.”I nodded my head and unclipped myself from the wall.
We walked around for a while looking for another wall and sure enough I finally found one.
It was bright and colourful and it was themed on kites. It looked a bit harder than the last one but I felt confident enough to try it.
I clipped myself on and started climbing up the wall. I was almost at the top so I looked down. My brother was looking up at me from the floor so I smiled at him confidently and continued climbing up. I made it to the top and looked down. I was so high up, I got chills in my back. As I swung to the floor, My brother said to me, “Good job. Just one more wall until you can get a treat.” I smiled and looked around for another wall and surprisingly the girl on the wall just beside me was just about to get off so I stood behind her and waited.

The wall was themed on a volcano it looked hard and quite scary but I had the confidence to climb it.
Finally it was my turn so I clipped on and started to climb. It took about a minute to get up to the top and I felt pretty proud of myself when I did get up so I looked around at all the walls and all the kids that were climbing. I was amazed at how high I was.
When I was finished looking around I swung down from the top. My brother clapped as I unclipped myself from the wall. I did a few extra walls for fun but when I was finished we walked out of the kids climbing area.

We walked up to the lady at the front desk and asked her to take off my harness for me.

My waist felt a bit weird after my harness was off but I got used to it. My brother brought me some treats like mini cookies and a chocolate bar from the front counter. I felt so delighted and proud of myself as we walked outside and back to his car.

Skye and Storm

One day, near Christmas two children came home from school to open a colourfuly wrapped present. The kids were excited to open the box. They lifted the lid of the top of the box and their faces changed from calm to surprised. Their eyes were wide open as they looked inside the box. A black and white
puppy poked its small fluffy head out of the top of the box and look around. The boy picked it up and cuddled it. The children squealed with glee as they cuddled and played with the two puppies. One of the kids was crying tears of joy. Both of tthem were very emotional. The parents were laughing as the kids were playing with the playful puppys. They were both thankful for the little bundles of fluff that they got that day. The puppies names were Storm and Skye.

Bullying Poem

Don’t be a fool.
Use your tools.
Shame on you.
I don’t like you.
I cry quiet tears.
I wish you would just disappear.
I am filled with fear.
I just shed a tear.
Its bitter sweet.
I will hide in a sheet.
It’s the worst feeling.
It feels like my skin peeling.
I cried and cried throughout all the night.
But I know next time you will do it with all your might.
No bullies have friends.
So don’t try to pretend.
Are you feeling sad inside?
If so I can be by your side.
If you stopped bullying me and other people to.
People will then come close to you.

Easter Egg Hunt

On Easter Sunday morning I opened my eyes slowly and I saw, sitting there on my bedside table, a little bucket with the face of the Easter Bunny on the front. I sat up and picked it up. I peeked inside it and picked up a little note that had all the places where I had to look. The first line told me to go out into the living room. My legs were dying to get out of bed and onto the soft fluffy carpet to run to the first place. I hopped excitedly out of bed and ran into the living room. I was looking around and then I saw two Easter Eggs covered in pink and yellow wrapping sitting on the TV stand. I picked them up and placed them softly in the bucket. I looked around for more. My mum came down to the living room to help me. She spotted two Easter Eggs wrapped in spotty tinfoil on the coffee table. I stared down at the note. I read it out loud, “Go upstairs into the room where you like to spend most of your time,” it said. My mum knew where to look but she waited for me. I sped up the carpeted stairs and opened the  white gate into my office. I turned my head from side to side, looking around the room. I walked to the small white shelf at the side of the room and I saw two big Easter Eggs. One was wrapped in pink tinfoil and the other was covered in blue. I was finished in that room so I read the next clue. We had to go outside to the backyard to search. I slid the glass sliding door to open it and stepped outside onto the wooden deck. My face had a determined look on it because I wanted to find all of the Easter Eggs. I jumped onto the pavement excitedly. I stared at my tall Kowhai Tree. I grabbed two Easter Eggs from it. With a smile on her face, Mum pointed to the clay flower pots. I ran to them. My face was beaming with joy as I picked up the two Easter Eggs from the pots. I laid them into the bucket and ran inside. That was the best Easter Egg hunt I have ever had.
